I've been watching some videos on the so-called slap chop method of painting, where you base coat everything black and then do successive layers of gray and white dry brush before using contrast paints. A friend of mine had good luck with this so I am using it to hopefully get through a big batch of fantasy, pulp, and science fiction miniatures, many of whom I got at historicon back in July. There is even an old plastic Ezoghoul from the mutant Chronicles box set from the mid-90s.
I got these cool 1920s/30s era cars at the flea market today. They are too big at 143rd scale, but they look pretty good next to heroic 28 mm, which are probably around 1:50 scale.
